Okay, these talented fellows have been absorbed into SNL's black hole of mediocrity. God Save them. You might recognize the lippy Andy Samberg from that very show. Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer both write for SNL and do various film projects on the side.
Unfortuately, SNL has an uncanny penchant for sucking the humor and talent out of comedians, leaving behind phoned-in filler material. We'll see if that fate befalls the Lonely Island boys. Of course, many actors who have escaped SNL's talent phlebotomy have gone on to regain their funny.
The Lonely Island boys are responsible for such lyrically savvy SNL shorts as Natalie Portman's uncharacteristic "gangster" rap and R&B romantic spoof My Dick in a Box featuring that overtly sexual pop star who got famous for ditching his band. Check out another song they wrote in unmatchable white boy style.
